Hwaseong--(News Wire) Nov 4, 2016 – KAN, an ecofriendly sterilizing cleaner manufacturer (CEO: Lee Soon-Man) announced that it successfully closed a deal for exporting its product, Aqua Nax, worth $7,500 to CWT Preval France, a leading French company specialized in health and hygiene. This is the second export contract KAN signed with overseas businesses after it tapped into the Hong Kong market in
Thanks to the excellent performance and safety, Aqua Nax tapped into its second overseas market following that of Hong Kong.
Aqua Nax is an eco-friendly sterilizing cleaner made of 100% alkaline ionized water by conducting water electrolysis. Alkaline ionic water does not contain alcohol, surfactants, and other harmful chemical substances, and is one of the ‘Allowable Active Ingredients’ approved by the Ministry of Environment for the use of sterilization and disinfection.
This export deal is very encouraging amidst the growing concern for the safety of chemical cleaners for households containing sterilizing and disinfecting functions, after the recent humidifier sterilizer issue in Korea.
KAN’s export is meaningful for four reasons:
First, it exports the domestically-produced hygiene product to France, a country known to have stricter health and hygiene standards than that of Korea;
Second, the product is going to be used as hand sanitizer and hygiene product disinfectant in geriatric hospitals, senior care centers, and children’s facilities;
Third, the product received the NF (Norme Francaise) mark, the national standard in France, and passed Dermatest (Germany), with the French buyer directly managing the entire processes;
And fourth, the export contract was successfully closed owing to the local brand strategies in France.
“Because the domestic cleaner market is very small and already over-saturated, we thought that SMEs like us may not last in the Korean market. That’s why we decided to tap into the overseas market in 2015,” said Lee Sun-Man, CEO of KAN about the motivation behind the recent export strategy. He continued, “After we participated in the Hong Kong Houseware Fair and a number of other buyer’s conventions and exhibitions held in Shanghai, Yiwu, and Weihai in China, we became convinced that Aqua Nax can be competitive in foreign markets.”
He also said, “After we decided to export the product, we applied for various export support projects of the government, including KOTRA’s branch office service, GBC China marketing support project, and SBC (Small and Medium Business Corporation) overseas marketing agent service, and were selected for some of those programs.”
According to KAN, it directly participated in exhibitions and fairs held in neighboring countries while sourcing local buyers in distant countries via online B2B markets such as BuyKorea, EC21, and GobizKorea. They announced that they were able to win the export deal after promoting Aqua Nax on the premium site of EC21.
Since last February, when they received an inquiry from the French buyer, the matters on samples and other necessary items for export were all discussed via email. KAN said that the deal was able to be finalized seamlessly thanks to the all-out support from SBC’s overseas marketing department that paid close attention to the details that a novice exporter might not properly take care of.
