Crop prospects: This tobacco is of neutral character and blends well with any tobacco. Over and above a large portion of production is also exported in Pakistan.

Tobacco is the only crop grown in Pakistan whose yield is well above the world average and matches the per hectare yield in the US and other developed countries, an average yield of 1,900 kilograms per hectare. Major areas of tobacco production in Pakistan FCV and Burley Tobacco are produced in NWFP, DAC in Punjab, Rustica and Hookah are produced in all the four provinces of Pakistan. Tobacco was cultivated over an area of 6.2 million hectare with production of 126 thousand tons, during 2007. For 2009 crop, estimated tobacco production publicized 76.410 Million (kg) by PTB. In which FCV production is 70.735 Million (kg).
