Desulferizing Plant for Steam Coal power plant has successfully developed a flue-gas desulfurization process using magnesium hydroxide as the desulfurizing agent, and it offers many advantages over other processes currently.

3. Process Description
1) Absorption Step
The waste gas containing SOX is admitted first into the absorption tower (gas scrubber), where it is (1)scrubbed with an absorbent solution to remove SOX, (2)cleared of dust, (3)and then humidified and cooled down.

5.Process Flow

After gas saturation in the transition duct, the flue gas is introduced into bubbled into the absorbent through vertical sparger pipes where SO2 is absorbed and particulates removed thoroughly. The absorbed SO2 is completely oxidized to form sulfates by adding air at several times the stoichiometric requirement. The cleaned flue gas is then passed through a chevron type mist eliminator and exhausted to the atmosphere.
