Molecular Formula: ZnSO4. (x) H2O (x=1 or 7)
Molecular Weight: 179.47 (x=1) , 287.56 (x= 7)
Properties: colorless crystal, decomposed at 500oC above, easily soluble in water, insoluble in ethanol, aqueous solution is acidic, pH=4.5.
Use:
It is mainly used for the manufacture of lithopone and other zinc salts; as raw material for viscose and vinylon fiber; used for electroplating, mordants; as trace element fertilizers etc.
