FEATURES: CAD monocoque ft. triangle, Onda FPX fork and stays, carbon drop outs BENEFITS: Super lightweight, stiff, yet compliant RIDE QUALITIES: Responsive with exceptional energy transfer, comfortable on even the roughest surfaces BEST SUITED FOR: Racing and riding fast, long hours in the saddle PRINCE CARBON DETAILS: Built from the ultimate carbon fiber for cycling, the Prince represents the next generation of professional-level racing frames. The first thing you notice is that the silhouette of the Prince is not based on the conventional eight tube design, but is conceived as a single entity. The monocoque construction allows the tubes to flow together, offering additional strength and stiffness where it is desired while allowing excess weight to be carved away where it is not needed. The final shape was determined through much computer modeling by Pinarello. This has allowed Pinarello to take into account the critical regions of compression and tension in the frame and, through multi-shaping and external ribbing, spread these forces over a larger area, thus reducing their effect on frame longevity as well as improving ride comfort. Notice details such as the shape and orientation of the chainstays. They are shaped so that they are extremely resistant to lateral forces, helping to ensure optimal stiffness of the bottom bracket region, but are not so stiff vertically as to increase the transmission of road vibrations to the rider. Also, notice the ONDA FPX fork, which has a tapered steerer tube giving the additional support of a 1-1/4 lower bearing which helps stiffen the entire front end and, in conjunction with the newly designed headtube, gives the utmost in responsiveness to rider input. The additional wave in the ONDA FPX fork, as well as the seatstays, helps increase the comfort level without detracting from the responsiveness of the frameset. Through this computer modeling, Pinarello has created a frameset which will stand up to the rigors
