Glucoraphanin, a natural glucosinolate found in cruciferous vegetable, is a stable precursor of the Nrf2 inducer sulforaphane, which possesses antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-carcinogenic effects.

Broccoli Seed Extract is an organosulfur compound that exhibits anticancer, antidiabetic, and antimicrobial properties in experimental models. It is obtained from cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli, Brussels sprouts or cabbages. Theenzyme myrosinase transforms glucoraphanin, a glucosinolate, into sulforaphane upon damage to the plant (such as from chewing). Young sprouts of broccoli and cauliflower are particularly rich in glucoraphanin.Glucoraphanin, is known as glucosinolate. The thiosides can be divided into three types: aliphatic, aromatic and indole according to the difference of R groups. The R group of glucoraphanin is CH3SO(CH2)4, is aliphatic glucosinolate. Glucoraphanin’s degradation product is isothiocyanate, which is mainly sulforaphane.Glucoraphanin and its degradation products sulforaphane have active biochemical characteristics, especially the anticancer activity. Sulforaphane has attracted scholars’ attention at home and abroad. Sulforaphane is a type of isothiocyanate with strong anticancer activity found in vegetables so far. Its anti-cancer effect has been fully proven in rat breast cancer, and has been widely recognized.
