A drag bit is a series of blades which is designed for use in soft formations such as sand, clay, or some soft rock. All tungsten carbide tips are welded to the bit wing by a special process to ensure a strong bond that will not shear or break when drilling through hard formations, three or four wings drag bits are available with either stepped or chevron profiles.
