▲UN INCB Workshop Delegates
EC21 was among some 130 delegates attending a workshop organized by the United Nations International Narcotic Control Board (UN INCB) held in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt on 11~14 September 2022.
The event was aimed at reducing global trade in illegal narcotics through strengthening cooperation among relevant private and public sector organizations.
During the 4-day gathering, EC21 shared how it has successfully reduced illegal drug postings on EC21.com and its ongoing cooperation with the UN INCB and the Korea Supreme Prosecutor's Office.
Other major e-commerce companies attending included falabella.com (Chile), flipkart.com (India), indiamart.com (India), tokopedia.com (Indonesia), jumia.com (Nigeria), and lazada.com (Singapore).
Representatives of those companies shared their experience and knowledge of combating illegal drug and prohibited product postings on their websites.
Government and international organizations also shared their experience in tackling the misuse of legitimate Internet-related services for trafficking of New Psychoactive Substances (NPS), non-medical synthetic opioids and relevant precursors.
