EC21 contributes to UN meeting on online trade in illegal opioids
| On 16–18 January EC21 was invited to attended a meeting of the United Nations International Narcotics Control Board held in Vienna, Austria, and to make a presentation on internet trafficking in illegal opioids. The meeting aimed to exchange information about online trade in illegal narcotics. Attendees from the public sectors included law enforcement agencies Interpol and Europol, while from the private sector EC21 and other leading B2B website operators Alibaba and Tencent were the sole participants. EC21 has been in the vanguard of combating the sale of prohibited products such as illegal drugs on for more than a decade. As part of our collaboration with the UN INCB and law enforcement agencies, we will pass illegal drug posters’ information at their request.
