脉冲电源：在脉冲电镀工艺中，当电流导电时，脉冲（峰值）电流是普通直流电流的几倍甚至几十倍。正是这种瞬时高电流密度导致金属离子在极高的过电位下被还原，从而在沉积层中产生更细的晶粒尺寸;当电流关闭时，阴极区域附近的放电离子恢复到其初始浓度并消除浓度极化，这有利于在下一个脉冲中继续使用高脉冲（峰值）电流密度。同时，在封闭期，沉积层也存在重结晶、吸附/解吸等有利现象。这个过程在整个电镀过程中同步运行，所涉及的机理构成了脉冲电镀最基本的原理。实践证明，与传统的直流电镀相比，脉冲电源在精炼结晶、改善涂层理化性能、节约贵金属等方面具有无可比拟的优势。应用当脉冲功率用于电镀金、银、镍、锡和合金时，可以显着提高涂层的功能;用于保护性装饰电镀（如装饰金）时，可使镀层颜色均匀一致，亮度好，耐腐蚀性强; 当使用脉冲功率进行贵金属提纯时，贵金属的纯度更高。脉冲电源优于传统的电镀电源，是电镀电源的发展方向。
