Motor Driven Roller (MDR) conveyor is a relatively recent innovation in the world of conveyors. The distributed placement of these small motors effectively creates accumulation zones throughout the conveyor. Simple controller cards are utilized to manage motor speed and direction, often equipped with control card to control zone accumulation. Simplified Accumulation: MDR conveyors are exceptionally well-suited for accumulation tasks in material handling. The decentralized nature of these systems, with small motors distributed throughout, creates individual accumulation zones. This simplifies material buffering and reduces the complexity of managing product flow. In contrast, traditional conveyors using BLDC or AC motors may require more intricate control systems to achieve similar accumulation functionality. Ease of Maintenance: The use of bands to drive transportation rollers in MDR conveyors allows for easy replacement when compared to traditional conveyors with BLDC or AC motors. This ease of maintenance minimizes downtime and ensures the conveyor system remains operational with minimal disruptions. Adaptability: MDR systems can incorporate belts atop the rollers for inclines, declines, or speed adjustments, providing flexibility in handling various material handling requirements.
