Card-Phenol well known as Cardanol is the active constituent Cashew Nut Shell Liquid and is a monohydroxy having a long hydrocarbon chain in a Meta position. It is manufactured from Cashew Nut Shell liquid by a special process and serves as an excellent raw material for the preparation of high grade Insulating Varnishes, Paint, Brake Lining & Clutch Facing Enamels, laminating resin, rubber compounding, surface coating etc. by convectional methods or directly by the insitu process.
