Definition: What is track roller, and what’s the role of track roller for an earthmoving equipment? Track Roller is also called lower roller or bottom roller, which is designed to carry the majority of the excavators weight and dynamic forces through the tracks, and onto the ground.

Maintainence: How to prolong the lifespan of track roller? The best way is to check on a regular basis, moreover It is strongly suggested replacing all the bottom rollers on one side. If only one roller per side is changed, then as the new roller may be slightly larger in diameter it will carry a higher load and have a shorter life: ü Increase the point loadings of less worn rollers, thereby increasing peak ground bearing pressure. ü Accelerate track wear. ü Increase the likelihood of de-tracking and subsequent damage to tracks. ü Increase the load on the track motor and gearbox.

Other info to share: Track roller cannot be immersed in mud for a long time. After working, you should drive walking motor to get rid of dirt and gravel. In winter, should keep Track roller dry because there is a floating seal between the outer roller of Track roller and the shaft. If in water, it would freeze at night. When the excavator is walking the next day, the floating seal is in contact with ice to cause oil spill. When Track roller is damaged, can cause many faults, such as walking deviation, walking weakness and so on.
