Description Process	Urea is produced using ammonia and carbon dioxide.
Applications	Most popular high-analysis nitrogen fertiliser in the world, with min. 46.0% nutrient content. Raw material for urea-ammonium nitrate solution.
Packaging and Transportation	Urea is usually treated with conditioning agents to preserve its properties. Urea is sold to customers pre-packaged (in 50-kg polypropylene bags), in big bags for bulk cargo (400- and 800-kg); it is also delivered in bulk in covered self- unloading fertiliser hopper cars. Bulk urea is also transported in covered decked sea vessels or in specially equipped road vehicles with the cargo covered in the body. The temperature of prilled urea before packing shall not exceed 50 0C. Specialised flexible, universal urea containers may be transported by road without any cover.
Storage	Urea is stored indoors in well-ventilated warehouses to protect it from weather exposure. Urea containers and bags may be stored outdoors. In case of bulk storage, urea must not mix with any other fertilisers. Guaranteed shelf life for urea is 6 months and 2 years for urea packaged for retail sales upon the manufacture date.
Safety Requirements	Under normal conditions, urea is non-flammable, fire and explosion resistant.
