Application of UV optical elements
Generally, UV rays are divided into short wave 200~280nm(UVC), medium
wave 275~320nm(UVB) and long wave 320~400nm(UVA). At present, UV
products on the market mainly rely on UV LED.
UV LED is the LED of central wavelength is below 400nm.
UV LED (ultraviolet light emitting diode) is a new UV light source of
semiconductor light, which can directly convert electric energy into
light and radiant energy. Compared with traditional UV light sources
such as mercury arc lamp and microwave electrodeless lamp, UV LED has
many advantages, such as long service life, high efficiency, low
voltage, low temperature, high security, low operating cost, mercury
free and ozone free, and has become a new UV light source.
Typical Applications of UV ray wavelength range
UVA 320~400nm is mainly used for curing
UVB 275~320nm is mainly used for medical treatment
UVC 200~280nm UVC has the function of sterilization and is very
destructive to microorganisms. It is mainly used for sterilization under
UV ray.

Lens for Led package
Quartz glass with high transmittance is used for light exporting, to
form the required light field distribution. Its extremely high
ultraviolet transmittance reduces the loss of light in the transmitting.
At present,JGS1 and JGS2 are two types of UV optical quartz glasses used commonly.
JGS1 UV optical quartz glass is an excellent optical material in the
range of 185~2500nm. It is an optical quartz glass melted with
high-purity oxyhydrogen flame, and the transmittance can reach more than
90%. JGS2 UV optical quartz glass is a good optical material in the
range of 220~2500nm. It can be used in organic packaging and inorganic
packaging.
1)Plane window: it mainly covers the light emitting surface of the LED
lamp bead. Through the light, it can protect the chip and improve the
air tightness of the lamp bead.
